Born and raised in Ivory Coast, Mr. Coulibay was fortunate to attend one of the few private schools in his hometown of Korhogo. Three years after graduating from high school, he obtained a bachelor's degree in Linguistics (French language and literature) at the University of Abidjan (Ivory Coast) and the next year, a Master's in Linguistics "applied to French teaching". He taught middle school in the Ivory Coast for four years before moving to the United States in 2001, much to the chagrin of his family who wanted him to remain there.
The most difficult part of Mr. Coulibaly's transition was learning a different language and adapting to a different way of life; however with strong determination and a love for teaching his journey began after much adversity. Mr. Coulibaly holds a K-12 teaching certificate in the District of Columbia. He is currently certifying to be a Maryland elementary school teacher.
"I have always placed great importance on education and have had a drive to learn more and excel in life," Mr. Coulibaly said. "My ultimate goal is to be the best teacher I can be: a teacher who can inspire young children who are also facing many challenges, and who will always go the extra mile to ensure their success."

I aim to provide a stimulating learning environment that encourages students to trust their own opinions, while fostering confidence in order for students to realize their full potential. I love working with children and will continue to strive to be a positive influence in their lives. And I hope I can install a love of learning and a desire for constant knowledge within each student."
